![]() ![]() If it doesn't then they won't be around for long. A corporation's sole purpose is to make profit for its investors. The last thing I just want to point out is that everyone is taking the $69 price personal like someone is ripping them off. ![]() ![]() Its common business practice to release a product at a high price point to gather as much money from early adopters as possible then slowly lower the price over a product's life expectancy. A lot of people aren't willing to even spend $59 so they'll pirate a game weither its $40, $50, etc. The difference of $59 and $69 won't affect pirate rates. also, those who are willing to spend no matter how much sth cost, are definitely at the minority on RFD, if not in real life. the high price point will hurt not only their corporate image (which is already in the gutter), and hinder sales as well (need I mention the current economy?). with the already high pirate rate on the pc, the high price point will not help their case, i think sth like spore will happen (except this case to counter greediness rather than DRM). The pc gaming market is already staggering as many major game releases have bypassed pc, or delayed launch for pc (of course there's odd ones like WOW.). Seriously, you can whine and complain but when it comes down to it you'll end up spending the money and thats all they care about. $60 is reasonable for a new release that provides the amount of enjoyment the other ones have in the series. They can charge basically whatever they want and people will still pay it. They have a product that's in high demand. ![]()
